NOW

NOW is all there is!

Despite vain musings of the past,
joyous events or spectres of sorrow
quickly dissipate, like a hand
brushing over an image outlined on sand.

Re-enacting past tragedies or glories nothing serves.
At worse, recreating more of the same
and wallowing in it........
our sub-conscious addiction to suffering.
At best, a hollow illusion of satisfaction and fulfillment.

NOW is all there is!
The past no longer there,
the future still unwritten,
awaiting present thoughts
and deeds to mould it.
Hence the urgency to live a Divine now.

Plans have a knack for going awry
and momentous moments lived result
in but a ripple of pride, joy, exictement or sorrow,
then are dead and gone,
of little genuine interest to anyone anyway.

NOW is all there is!
Its indestructible golden thread
bonding us to God,
opening the floodgates of perfect love and wisdom
to our awareness.
Each new pristine moment
untainted by the past,
uncoloured by a projected future.

NOW is all there really is!
Almost effortless to experience living it for a while,
most challenging to do so perpetually.
Success in this is the healing balm
for maladies of body and soul,
entitling one to declare that ever-expanding,
all-embracing proclamation - 'I AM'
